The Sulo Hotel, the torch of Philippine hospitality, opened its door on August 4, 1967 in a place that could be fittingly called the center of nowhere. Although it has long been marked to be the government center of the country. Diliman in Quezon City was largely undeveloped at the time. Only a couple as daring as Modesto and Trinidad Diaz-Enriquez would have decided to build a hotel in the area. A decade later, The Sulo Hotel stands as a monument to the fearless foresight of the two founders of the fast-growing Sulo Group of Hotels and restaurants.

The Sulo Hotel was unfortunately gutted down by fire on October 7, 1979. After a year of renovation work, it once again opened its doors to the hospitality trade and tourism industry.
Located in the heart of Quezon City, it is within the progressive government establishments such as BIR Building, Quezon City Hall, SSS Central Bank Security Complex, the Philippine Heart Center, University of the Philippines and the House of Representatives.

The Hotel has 70 guest rooms and suites with tastefully-designed Philippine crafted furniture and décor. Among its other amenities are; function rooms and six food & beverage outlets.

In terms of services, convenience and luxuries, The Sulo Hotel is thoroughly modern. In design, however, it is uniquely Fillipino. The Hotel boasts of an architectural style touched with the exotic influence of Malayan structures found in Southern Mindanao. Its walls are of rich adobe, simulating the “cotas” or stone forts of golden times.

The Sulo Hotels Corporation is a 100% Filipino-owned corporation duly registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission since May 16, 1966. The Sulo Hotel is a three-storey building on an 8,400-sq. meter land along Matalino Road in Quezon City with a total floor area of 6,711 square meters.

It is located at the hub of Quezon City’s prime institutions. Its presence has helped spur the current thrust and development along Quezon City and other areas going farther north. This synergistic relationship has given The Sulo Hotel several competitive advantages, which are translated into profits for the sustainable operation of the hotel, at a level that is normally higher than the industry advantage.

It currently operates 70 tastefully designed guestrooms, three of which are suites. Although it has now made use of modern architecture and interior decorations, it has retained its ethnic influences from the Moslems of the Southern Philippines. It is an ideal venue for business and social gatherings. The Lobby area has four dining facilities that provide the public with a selection of specialties, each with its own distinctive quality. This includes the Lobby Lounge, Café Paraiso, The Sushi Bar and the Teppanyaki. It also has the Patisserie, which provides a myriad of specialty cakes and pastries.

A cozy and relaxing ambience at the lower level exudes quite intimacy. Located in this level is the Diwata Cocktail Lounge that beckons one to indulge and unwind to fine spirits and enjoy live five-star entertainment rendered by charming lounge singers nightly.

The Quezon Ballroom, which can be partitioned into two halls when required, can comfortably accommodate a total of 300 people. Bathed in bright hues and majestic brass chandeliers and wall sconces, its interiors evoke impeccable elegance well suited for all occasions.

Aside from the ballroom, the hotel has other function rooms that can accommodate smaller groups of 10 to 80 persons. These are Soliman, Sikatuna, Lakandula, Humabon, Urduja, Tandang Sora, Doña Trinidad, Lakambini and Mutya rooms.
