n August of 1992, a group of young professional musicians from the University of Santo Tomas was organized to perform at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. Their stay for two consecutive years earned the hotel "The Best Entertainment." In 1994, the group signed a contract to perform regularly at EDSA Shangri-La Plaza Hotel and other five star hotels and fine dining restaurants in the country.

This group was spearheaded by GARY SILANGCRUZ , a graduate of UST with Bachelors Degree in Music. A flutist, an Orchestra Conductor, and a recipient of various national and international awards. Gary is one of the country's top-rated flutist/performer and presently a member of The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. Through the efforts of a truly gifted musician comes THE VELVET MOOD ENSEMBLE .

Today, THE VELVET MOOD offers the same world class Performance and Entertainment at a very reasonable rate for your very own special occassion like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, inaugurations, and even cocktail or sing-along parties.
