From discovering her love for the arts to finally mastering the craft of makeup artistry, Joy Benamera constantly charts her journey to make more beautiful faces shine in their special day.

A graduate of HD Makeup Academy (formerly known as Basement Academy), Joy was mentored by professional makeup artists Jeave Gabiana and Stef Chua-Sing who were both graduates of Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California and of the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, California. There she earned her Certification in HD Beauty and Fashion Makeup, HD Pro Airbrush Makeup, and Bridal and Fashion Hairstyling courses. She specializes in bridal and fashion makeup but also does makeup for special occasions, themed occasions, and advertising pictorials.

Joy realised her passion for makeup artistry during her high school years. Since then, she has continuously developed her skills in makeup artistry by enriching herself with the latest trends and techniques. She started to finally practice makeup as a profession in 2009 and has been active in several bridal fairs and wedding expos in the country for 3 years. As a makeup artist, Joy puts high value on time. She believes that professionalism is primarily demonstrated by being punctual and that her clients’ time is as valuable as hers. She sees to it that she comes ahead of schedule as this allows her to check on even the smallest details.

At present, Joy is representing her own brand of makeup artistry. Her goal is for her brand to reflect the versatility of makeup artistry representing the diverse personalities of every client. Her boldness in exploring her strengths as a makeup artist makes her an artist to watch out for.
