The year 1999 marked a promising start on the business venture of Mr. Leslie C. Paelmo and his wife, Mrs. Dolores G. Paelmo who came from a family of wood carvers from the province of Laguna. Looking at the prospect of marketing Filipino treats which the province is most famous for, the couple opened a small "pasalubong" or gift shop in Tagaytay City named "Leslie's Pasalubong" selling "special" buko pies as its banner product to passing tourists and locals wanting a taste of native Filipino delicacies.
With the success of their initial endeavor, Mr. and Mrs. Paelmo were enthused with the idea of expanding their operations by having three ()3 Nipa Huts for rent along with their "pasalubong" shop. From there, they further grew the business by building 10 Nipa Huts that eventually became the home of the first "Leslie's Restaurant" when they decided to foray into the restaurant industry. Keeping in line with their main thrust of showcasing everything that is proudly Filipino, the restaurant's sumptuous main dishes consisted of Bulalo, Kare-kare, Sisig and Grilled Sea foods which were sold at affordable prices.
In a short span of four (4) years brought about by the hard work and dedication of Mr. and Mrs. Paelmo with the help of their able staff, the restaurant relocated to a bigger place at Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Crossing West, Tagaytay City in order to better service their loyal and new customers. Their new site which became an eminent architectural structure mainly built from wood and stone further accentuated the modern Filipino theme that the establishment harped on combined with a blend of Spanish style.
In addition, the new location boasts of a breathtaking view of Taal Volacano allowing people to take pleasure in the cool weather and scenic ambiance while simultaneously enjoying the mouthwatering dishes offered by the restaurant. To cater to the increasing demands of the market, Leslie's Restaurant has likewise diversified their menu to include select Asian dishes. Furthermore, it has since become a notable venue for reservations of various functions and events like birthdays, weddings and other similar occasions. As proof of its significant contribution in the livelihood and economy of Tagaytay City, it has also been accredited by the Department of Tourism and the Tagaytay City Tourism Council (Akyat Na Tagaytay).
After several years, another branch was built in the heart of CAVITE - EPZA on May 2006. It was named LESLIE'S FOREST GARDEN RESTAURANT. Styled after its name, you will enjoy the beautiful vines hang from its ceiling and the sweet sound of water falling right thru the wall glass while sipping the hot bulalo soup.
On April 2007, another branch was opened at Filinvest Alabang Muntinlupa. It was named LESLIE'S TROPICAL VALLEY RESTAURANT. Designed and looked like a ship with a small pond at its entrance. All its materials are from a real ship, making the restaurant more delightful and pleasant to everyone. It doesn't only offer a good ambiance but also delicious foods that everybody will always crave for. The famous bulalo soup is nevertheless everyone's favorite.
Another best thing from all Leslie's Restaurant branches besides its beautiful and relaxing atmosphere is that it's a perfect place for all occasions and celebrations. A place where you can build happy memories that will last and treasure forever.
At present, Leslie's Restaurant has now a total of three (3) branches in the Southern Luzon area. In view of its remarkable growth and popularity, it is most certain that this company will duplicate the success it has achieved thus far in Southern Luzon to all across the Philippines in the very near future. Soon to open Palawan branch next year.
