In Serbia, the groom’s father practices a unique way of inviting guests to the wedding. He fills a decorated flask with his best brandy, carries a sack on his shoulder, and sets out to invite the guests. He then offers each guest a drink and together they toast the couple. The guest then tops off the flask with brandy and pins a token, which could be a handkerchief or a pair of socks, to the father’s sack before the latter sets out to invite more guests.
