Soon to wed couples headed out to Diwa ng Tarlac in Tarlac City last February 20 – 22, 2009 to look for potential wedding suppliers during the Kasalan sa Tarlac wedding fair and exhibit, the second leg of Kasalang Filipino 2009 12-city wedding fair road show.
Kasalan sa Tarlac wedding fair and exhibit, co-presented by Kasal.com and ABS-CBN Regional Network Group in cooperation with the Tarlac Provincial Government, Coconut Grill Resort and Restaurant, and Café Maja Rica, started off with Tarlac School of Arts And Trade (TSAT) emerging victorious in the Wedding Table Setting competition. On the other hand, entries by the students of Skill Power Institute, Inc. (SPI) and Philippine Women’s University – Tarlac (PWU) were hailed as runner-ups.
Mr. Amado Go, Tarlac Second District Board Member; Ms. Jeni Mari Sanchez, Mutya ng Tarlak 2009; Mrs. Maur Aquino – Lichauco, culinary expert and sister of late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino, Jr.; Ms. Janice Abrogar, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group representative, and other personalities from the city graced the formal opening ceremony.
In his speech, Mr. Jun Baron of Coconut Grill and Café Maja Rica that through Kasalang Filipino, Tarlac-based wedding suppliers have the chance to expand their business and showcase what the province has to offer. Mr. Baron encourages wedding suppliers to upgrade its standards and be more competitive so that customers will be happy with the products and services they offer.
Board Member Go thanked the organizers of the event and stated that through Kasalang Filipino, Tarlac is able to promote its services, manpower, tourist destinations, and venues. Not only does the wedding fair and exhibit aids the businesses in Tarlac but also gives soon to wed couples and even those who intend to tie the knot options on holding their weddings despite limited budget.
The second day ended with a fashion show showcasing the latest bridal collection of Catalogue Fashion Gallery and The Brides World – Delmar.
The last day of the event held the Ever Bilena Make up demonstration followed by the Gandang Pinay Bridal Make up Competition. Eric Salas bested eight professional and amateur make up artists and received a trophy, Php 20, 000.00 worth of Ever Bilena products, and 1-year Gold Priority Listing advertising in Kasal.com worth Php 5, 000.00. Soon to wed couples and guests chose Happy Orchids as the best booth for the wedding fair and exhibit.
Couples who attended the event received gift packs while others won gift certificates courtesy of the event sponsors and text. The luckiest was Ms. Maria Teresa Joson and her fiancé who won an all expense paid trip to Macau courtesy of Café Maja Rica and Coconut Grill.
