Ready to pop the question but you have no idea about engagement rings? Here are some tips and advice for choosing the perfect engagement ring.
1. Equip yourself with the basics
In the jewelry store, you’ll be asked for your preference such as carat, color, clarity and cut and you’ll have to be able to communicate effectively. 3. Have a fixed budget
You may be overwhelmed with the wealth of choices your jeweler can offer so it helps to have a budget that you can work around with. Ask your jeweler for their best suggestion for your budget range. No need to look at the most expensive rings that you won’t be able to buy anyway. Find something of best value that you’re sure your girl would love.
4. Be practical
An engagement ring is something that your future wife will have to wear every day. Some occupations like pre-school teachers or physical trainers will require simpler jewelry that would fit for their everyday tasks. Big stones would not work well with highly physical activities that might scratch surfaces or get caught in clothing. If you’re girlfriend on the other hand is a fancy corporate high level employee, then big stones may not necessarily be a problem.
