Think you’re not ready for an elaborate church ceremony? If you are both ready to take the plunge but may not have the resources for a church wedding then you may opt for a civil ceremony.
The requirements for a civil wedding are:
(1) Secure your parental consent/parental advice and marriage license.
(2) Set the wedding date and an appointment with a judge, rabbi or the authority who will solemnize your marriage.
(3) The marriage should be solemnized publicly in the judge’s chambers, in an open court, in the office of the consul-general, consul or vice-consul.
There is no required program or text for civil weddings. What is important is that the parties accept each other as husband and wife.
