Finally! A wedding fair made especially for Southerners!

On November 5-6, 2011, the first ever high-end bridal fair will be held in prestigious Ayala-owned mall in the South – Alabang Town Center made especially for the AB market of the south. This is a project fully owned by Metro Weddings Magazine – the premiere bridal magazine in the Philippines, Lifestyle Network – The Premiere Cable Channel For Women In The Philippines, and Alabang Town Center, and organizing group COMMUNITY LYNKS EVENT, co-presented by Ponds Flawless White, Pru-life U.K., and Mini Cooper, and sponsored by Bellevue, Nuvali, Kasal.com, Weddings At Work, and Southern Living.

For Karina Garcia-Reyes, director of Community Lynks Events, she aims to bring to the south a bridal event that address the needs and lifestyle unique to southern marrying couples. She says Wedding Belles is a venue that will make accessible to them a choice of pre-selected quality suppliers who not only offer excellent products and services, but who rates. The biggest problem for Southerners when planning a wedding is the accessibility and even knowing their best choices for suppliers. Based on surveys conducted, all the quality wedding fair venues are too inconvenient for couples to visit. For the couples who do go, most don’t book any of the suppliers in the event (to the chagrin of the perplexed and stressed grooms-to-be) because: 1) they are overwhelmed with the sheer number choices and/or; 2) they don’t want to risk getting a supplier they know nothing about. Wedding Belles will be an anticipated event for southern couples because of its accessibility and hassle-free qualities. It is a bridal event grooms-to-be won’t mind going to because its hassle-free qualities AND because it is inside a mall, they definitely won’t get bored. Mike, 32 from Paranaque says: “I refused to go to any of those wedding fairs! It’s too far and what for? I didn’t think it was worth the hassle of going through the traffic.” Arrianne, 28 from BF says, “We went to all those wedding fairs thinking I’ll find something new to help give me an idea of what kind of wedding I want.. but they were all the same and they practically had all the same suppliers! I didn’t end up booking anyone from there!”

At its heart, Wedding Belles’ is a service established for the Southern community – both for the (high-end) marrying couples of the South and for (Class A) southern-based entrepreneurs and establishments. Because of this, rates are subsidized and more than 50% cheaper than other elite bridal fairs. “Our goal is to be THE friend southern couples can rely on to refer or supply them with only the best choices of suppliers for their most special day,” Karina says. Our team has painstakingly screened all the applicant suppliers through a series of interviews. “We are only accepting 105 exhibitors from all categories, which is not really hard to do because our rates are SO affordable – technically-speaking,” says Frieda “Dada” Aranzanso, Project Manager of Wedding Belles, “But because we are committed to bringing in only the best suppliers to the South, the extra effort and time it takes to meet each and every applicant makes the job more challenging. We prioritize southern-based suppliers and up- and-coming suppliers and designers as well. We prefer that our exhibitors are not that ‘commercialized’ and the professionalism and passion of the suppliers weigh heavily when making our decision to accept them or not.”

Wedding Belles is an open event that has no entrance fee and is accessible to the mall visitors. This allows the privileged exhibitors of Wedding Belles to also market their products and services to corporate and private functions in time for Christmas and 2012 events. Customers and mall visitors will be able to look forward to a special program of Metro Weddings Magazine, with special participation of School of Fashion and Arts, Discovery Weekend, and up-and-coming southern designer Ms. Mich Araullo. During the event, the mall will be exquisitely styled by top-notch event stylist and official Metro Weddings representative, Mr. Henry Pascual.
